You will need:
Activity worksheet 9. Grab 5! survey sheet
Action Pack, section 2 and information bank 8
|
Explain to the children that they are going to design a Grab 5!
campaign. Ask the children to make a list of information that that
will help them.

Things to consider when planning a
Grab 5! campaign:
- What is the basic message of the
campaign?
- Which people do we want to influence
with the campaign?
- What do we want to achieve?
- How much do people already know
about the benefits of eating fruit
and vegetables?
- How many portions of fruit and vegetables
are the people we want to
influence eating already?
- What are the most popular types
of snack?
- What are the most / least popular
types of fruit and vegetable?
- How can we find the answers to the
above questions? (By doing a
survey/questionaire/trial.)
- Is it easy to get hold of fruit
and vegetables in school?
- How can we get our message across?
(See Action Pack, ideas bank and
the following suggestions.)

 |
Explain to the children that they are going to conduct a survey
to discover information related to the Grab 5! campaign. This survey
might include children and adults throughout the school and could
be extended to include the family or wider community. Tell the children
that the survey will be used to plan their part of the Grab ! campaign.
The children can either design their own survey sheet or by use
the example given on activity worksheet 9. Also see the sample survey
in the Action Pack, Information bank 8.
The data can be analysed and used in conjunction with the planning
of the campaign and may also be repeated at a later stage in order
to assess the effectiveness of the campaign.
