Schools are very busy and have other priorities to meet. Whilst
for you the project may be your main focus it will not be for the
school. Don't get despondent if you feel schools are not responding,
for example, to a phone call or a letter. They get so much literature
they may not have seen it or it has slipped their mind. Chase everything.
They appreciate someone who is enthusiastic; the art is to keep
up the contact whilst not becoming a pest.
Remember classroom teachers cannot come to the phone most of the
time so try to ring during breaks, or leave messages that require
a simple yes/no reply. Give schools plenty of time to respond and
don't leave things until the last minute.
..That's it, simple really! So give it a go, and don't be a stranger.
