D. Activities to try

Back

Each school is unique and will choose activities that suit their own particular circumstances. The tables below show what the schools in the Grab 5! pilot project did.

It is difficult to predict what level of support a school will need from you. Over a period of one academic year, the Grab 5! coordinator in Lambeth visited 5 schools an average of 15 times each, in Leeds the coordinator visited 12 schools an average of 9 times each and in Plymouth the coordinator visited 9 schools an average of 7 times each. However, within each area, some schools were so well organised they needed hardly any support (including visits) at all but were still very active. In other schools, Grab 5! would not have worked without a concerted effort by for the local Grab 5! coordinator.

Summary of activities in primary schools involved in the pilot phase of Grab 5! (Sept 2001 - July 2002)
