Alpha Farm
An extensive study into the feasibility of a vertical farm, entitled Another day at the office, has been authored by URBED, Creative Concern, Capital Relations and Debbie Ellen. The report details the kind of challenges we are likely to encounter when transforming a derelict office building in Wythenshawe – complete with pigeons on the top floor! – into a successful vertical farm. Now it’s all systems go. The project official launched on the last day of the 2011 MIF programme, with an event at the Pavilion Theatre featuring vertical farm guru, Dickson Despommier. Please keep checking back here to hear how we’re getting on and how you can get involved – and maybe you’ll be helping us harvest our urban crop at MIF 2013.
