Rockland Farm Alliance
The Rockland Farm Alliance is a broad based community coalition of farmers, community groups, activists, country officials and active citizens. It was formed in 2007 with the mission to facilitate local sustainable agriculture in the region and it has grown into a powerful community force of over 300. It is supported by the Rockland County Soil & Water Conservation District which provides technical guidance, staff support and serves as a liaison to the USDA's Resource Conservation and Development Council, which provides ongoing advice and expertise. The RFA is currently implementing Glynwood’s two-year Keep Farming program here in Rockland County. Some of its goals are to promote ethical, ecological and economically sustainable farming practices, support educational opportunities and cultural events related to agriculture and maintain and enhance farm viability and profitability in Rockland County.
