Projects
Harvest
An organisation which, amongst other things, uses inner city growing spaces in Brighton and Hove to train local residents in food growing and related skills. The project offers a wide variety of training sessions to groups and individuals including organic growing, container growing, how to plan a plot, composting and fruit growing. The courses are run by local food groups at their growing sites in the city and, as well as providing skill development opportunities for participants, help the group raise profile, bring in income and build on organisational capacity. Harvest also offers a Work Placement scheme that trains people who have been unemployed for more than 6 months and provide a reference and advice about finding work in the food growing sector upon completion.
